After nearly a year of hard work, the time has come to
celebrate! This Saturday, 26 July 2008, we will dedicate the
home we have built in partnership with Heather and her
daughters. Dedication will take place at 10 AM at 519 S.
Pottenger. Mark your calendars and plan to join us as we
present Heather with the keys to her new home!
Stay "tuned"
for information on beginning construction on our next home!

In spite of the rain and cold, a good crew showed up
Saturday. We stapled insulation to all exterior walls in less
than two hours, making the house ready for sheetrocking next
Saturday, February 23. The workers today were Barbara Shirley,
Ralph Biddle, John Prince, Jess Partridge, Heather Burris and her
daughters Autumn and Toynelle, Nick McCune, Ceara McElfresh, Joe
Hall, and Construction Supervisor Mike Rader.

February 9
Work day was short but productive. Since the
electrician has not yet wired the house, we could not begin
installing insulation. However, we could seal all cracks and
potential leaks with caulk and foam so that the insulation will be
as effective as possible. We expect the wiring to be done by
the February 9 work day, at which time we should be able to insulate
the house.
We presented the tool kit the board voted to give to the
McCune/McElfresh Partner Family. Heather Burris could not work
this Saturday and will receive her tool kit next work day.
The good work crew for Jan. 26 included Ceara McElfresh, Nick
McCune, Barbara Shirley, John Prince, Jesse Partridge, Craig Walker,
Jim Page, and Mike Rader, the Construction Supervisor.

The Habitat house at 519 Pottenger is shingled now, thanks
to Mike Rader's leadership and willingness to work an extra day with
a good group of volunteers. These included Mike McCune, Ceara
McElfresh, Ralph Biddle, Richard Coggins, Greg Cullison, Craig
Walker, Tim Youmans, Allen Weeks, and Joe Hall. Thanks to
these people for a morning's hard work in a good cause. Now that the
roof is on, the electrician and plumber can work, and from this
point on, most of the work will be indoors. We should not miss
any more work days, and should move on toward completion of this
house for the Burris family in late Spring.
